AG Energy obtains a license to build the first solar power plant in Ghadames

The Independent Power Producer (IPP) AG Energy has just obtained the authorization from the authorities in charge of energy in Libya, for the construction of a 200 MWp solar photovoltaic power plant in Ghadames.

The first renewable energy project to be carried out by an independent power producer (IPP) is now entering its full development phase in Libya. The decision was taken by the Libyan Privatization and Investment Board (PIB) and the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL). The validated project is carried by AG Energy, an independent power producer (IPP) based in Dublin, Ireland.

Active mainly in North Africa with 3,500 MW of generating capacity under development, IPP wants to build a solar plant in Libya. The facility, which will have a capacity of 200 MWp, will be located in Ghadames, 650 km from the capital Tripoli. It is mainly a pilot project for the authorities who want to attract private investment in renewable energy in Libya.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs arrives in Ethiopia to participate in the 40th session of the Executive Council of the African Union

Ministry of Transportation : « The reason for the delay of the plane that carried the MPs from Mitiga International Airport to Tobruk is due to technical and logistical issues »

The Transportation Ministry of the National Unity Government clarified in a statement on Monday, that the reason for the delay of the plane that transported the deputies from Mitiga International Airport to Tobruk is due to technical and logistical issues, denying the accusations of Parliament Speaker, Aqila Saleh, that the government tried to disrupt the parliament session.

The ministry stated that it had tracked the background of the incident of the delay of the plane belonging to the Berniq Airways, which was intended to transport members of the House of Representatives to the city of Tobruk, through the civil aviation and airports departments specialized in supervising air traffic and airports. Dedicated in the Mitiga International Airport yard to receive the plane, which caused a temporary flight delay, and as soon as the place became available, permission was given to resume the flight.

The Ministry of Transportation confirmed that it is an executive body that provides its services to all Libyans, calling on everyone to investigate accuracy and responsibility and not be drawn into rumours.

Dbeibeh: « Aqila Saleh desperately attempts to return the division and the government will continue to perform its duties until the completion of the elections ».

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, said that what Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh is doing is a desperate attempt to restore division, stressing that the national unity government will continue to perform its duties until the completion of the elections.

He added, in statements to the Qatari Al-Jazeera channel, that the government had accomplished all its entitlements related to the elections, noting that he had communicated with most international parties, all of which were against the attempts of the Speaker of Parliament regarding a new transitional phase, according to him.

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government stressed that the outcomes of the political agreement are clear in the nature of the relationship with bodies and institutions, adding that more than 2.5 million voters were waiting for a road map that would support the elections project and not jump to a new transitional phase.

The Speaker of the Representatives House had confirmed that the national unity government headed by Dbeibeh expired on December 24, and that the House of Representatives opened the door for candidacy to head the new government. The candidates will be heard next Monday, and a prime minister will be chosen on the following Tuesday.

Dbeibeh inaugurates the project of completing the stages of the Third Ring Road

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabeibeh, inaugurated today, Monday, the completion of the Third Ring Road project, in the presence of a number of ministers, directors of executive bodies and a coalition of Egyptian companies executing the project.

The total length of the project increases 23 Km and will be implemented in four phases, starting from Ghut Shaal, passing through the Airport Road and Salah El-Din Intersection on the Second Ring Road, reaching the seashore near Mitiga International Airport.

LPTIC Holding discusses the situation of Libyana and Hatif Libya company

The Chairman of the Directors Board of Libyan Post, Telecommunication & IT Holding Company, Rajab Khalil, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Directors Board of the Libyana Mobile Phone Company, Abdel-Moneim Al-Hajaji, at the headquarters of the Holding Company on Zawia Street, in the presence of the head of the company’s supervisory board.

Al-Shalawi: « There is a project to launch micro, small and medium loans for youth and job seekers »

There is a project to launch micro, small and medium loans targeting primarily young people, job seekers or those who want to leave the public job. This will only be possible with the existence of a stable state in all political, security, social and economic aspects, and that there are many foreign and Arab investors who aim to establish partnerships with local investors or carry out direct investment activities in the fields of industry and mining from different countries (USA, France, Italy, Egypt, Turkey and Algeria) ».

He concluded his speech by saying: « It is time to build, stabilize and advance our country, after spending from 2011 to 2021, about 360 billion dollars, while the losses of wars and oil reached 659 billion dollars, according to United Nations estimates. He also estimated the size of the lost opportunities during this period. It is estimated at about 800 billion dollars, and the size of the GDP deficit is estimated at about 60 billion dollars, stressing that there is no escape from the concerted efforts of everyone and work to encourage the private sector to the maximum extent possible so that the role of the Libyan state becomes only the guarantor, observer, preparing and encouraging the game of the strategic goal, which is to diversify the national economy And converting it from rentier oil-dependent only to economic and agricultural service activities ».

The designated of the Board of Directors Chairman of Libyan Post Telecommunications & Information Technology Holding Company, Rajab Khalil, discussed with the departments and offices directors in a meeting on Sunday, at the company’s headquarters in the Central Post Building in Zawiya Street area in Tripoli, the estimated budget for the year 2022 in preparation for its presentation at the next Directors Board meeting.

The attendees emphasized the follow-up of the subsidiaries of the holding company in completing the preparation of their estimated budgets and closing their final accounts, while assigning the operations department of the holding company to settle and resolve procedural problems between the subsidiaries. They also stressed the necessity of disbursing employees’ salaries without any delay and making all efforts to work with subsidiaries to stabilize the network and provide all telecommunications services in all parts of Libya.
