The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Tripoli, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer held a meeting today, Tuesday, with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino.

Libyan oil workers threaten to close Marsa Al-Hariga

Libyan oil workers are threatening to shut down exports from the Marsa Al-Hariga terminal in the east of the country at the end of this month if their pay demands are not met by state-owned NOC subsidiary Agoco.

The majority of Agoco’s crude production feeds into the Sarir and Mesla grades, which are loaded from Marsa el-Hariga. The terminal shipped out 194,000 b/d in January and 196,000 b/d across the whole of 2021, according to Argus tracking data.

If Marsa el-Hariga is closed, it would mark the second major shutdown of Libyan oil infrastructure this year.

The Tripoli Administrative Control Authority and Cases Department met to discuss joint cooperation

Today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Administrative Control Authority, Tripoli, a meeting was held between the authority and the Cases Department, in the presence of the head of the authority, Suleiman Al-Shanti, the head of the cases management, Khalifa Al-Jahmi, and a number of officials from both sides.

During which it was emphasized the activation of the work of the two communication committees between the two parties formed since 2019 regarding the exchange of information, documents and procedures for the facts of judicial and arbitration cases considered abroad, in order to facilitate the administration’s procedures in pleading with government cases, and to enhance its defenses in arbitration cases related to some settlement agreements issued by the Some state officials in violation of the provisions of the law, and to ensure that the authority obtains all documents related to the investigations it is conducting in this aspect.

The National Oil Company signs the extension of the security management system for the memorandum of cooperation signed with the Italian company Eni

Today, Monday, the Chairman of the Directors Board of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, signed the extension of the security management system for the memorandum of cooperation signed with the General Director of Eni North Africa B.V. , Antonio Baldasari and Luca Colombo, in the presence of both the member of the Directors Board for Exploration and Production, Abu al-Qasim Shanqir and the Director of Maintenance and Projects Department, Najmi Karim.

The memorandum provided a series of activities to improve security standards through a capacity building program for industrial security personnel at the National Oil Corporation and Mellitah Oil and Gas Company.

It also represents a step towards improving security standards in the Libyan oil and gas industry to support petroleum operations. Dbeibeh allocates two and a half billion dinars to support municipalities according to a proposal by the Minister of Local Government

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, said on Monday, during his speech at the second regular cabinet meeting for 2022, that « we urge all ministries to continue implementing their programs to serve citizens, and to provide services equally between municipalities ».

Dbeibeh also stated that the government will disclose all its expenditures to citizens in order to achieve transparency, adding that the Minister of Justice will assign an independent legal team to draft the election law until the elections are completed no later than next June.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister announced the allocation of 2.5 billion dinars to support municipalities, according to a proposal submitted by the Minister of Local Government.

The Council of Ministers gives permission to the General Electricity Company of Libya to contract with a number of companies to implement the Zliten gas station project, with a value of more than 1 billion euros

Today, Monday, the spokesman for the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Hammouda confirmed exclusively to our source, the issuance of Cabinet decree No. 95 of 2022, regarding granting permission for the General Electricity Company to contract through direct assignment with the coalition of the two companies, Urbacon and Elsewedy Electric in the amount of 908.8 million euros, in order to implement the project of establishing an emergency gas power station in Zliten, with a production capacity of 1044 megawatts.

The Council of Ministers also gave permission for the Electricity Company to contract with the German Siemens company, amounting to 135 million euros, to carry out long-term maintenance work for the Zliten emergency gas power plant.

The decision included granting permission as well to contract with the Arab Consulting and Engineering Services Company “ACESCO” and Hill International, in the amount of 12.5 million euros, as a consultant for the project to construct the Zliten emergency power plant.
