Today, Monday, the spokesman for the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Hammouda confirmed exclusively to our source, the issuance of Cabinet decree No. 95 of 2022, regarding granting permission for the General Electricity Company to contract through direct assignment with the coalition of the two companies, Urbacon and Elsewedy Electric in the amount of 908.8 million euros, in order to implement the project of establishing an emergency gas power station in Zliten, with a production capacity of 1044 megawatts.
The Council of Ministers also gave permission for the Electricity Company to contract with the German Siemens company, amounting to 135 million euros, to carry out long-term maintenance work for the Zliten emergency gas power plant.
The decision included granting permission as well to contract with the Arab Consulting and Engineering Services Company “ACESCO” and Hill International, in the amount of 12.5 million euros, as a consultant for the project to construct the Zliten emergency power plant.
