Libyan Prime Minister allocates 250 million dinars to cover the costs of Hajj for this year

A government official from the National Unity Government confirmed to our source that Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh had issued a decision to allocate funds from the state treasury to cover the costs of Libyan pilgrims for the year 1444 Hijri. The decision includes the allocation of 250 million dinars to cover the expenses of Hajj.

Yesterday, May 8, 2023, Dbeibeh also appointed Abdullatif Al-Alam to the position of Executive Director of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah. This decision to allocate funds for this year’s Hajj expenses continues the National Unity Government’s policy of paying for the costs of Libyan pilgrims, following a similar decision last year to allocate 200 million dinars from the state treasury to cover Hajj expenses.
