Al-Waha Bank announced that its branches have started to include the children’s allowance in the accounts of their beneficiaries for the months of July, August and September, as of this morning, Tuesday.

The Ministry of Oil responds to questions about extending the gas pipeline from Libya to Damietta and the pipeline to Greece

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity clarified, through its official Facebook page, the questions it received from those interested in the public affair and a number of oil and gas experts, which were focused on extending a gas pipeline from Libya to Damietta and another pipeline from Libya to Greece.

The Ministry of Oil replied that regarding the construction of a line from Libya to Damietta in Egypt to establish a gas liquefaction plant, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Oil Corporation and the Italian company Eni, in 2007 for the establishment of a gas liquefaction plant in Libya. This memorandum was amended in 2008, and both of them stipulated a preliminary engineering study for the establishment of a gas liquefaction plant and paid a signature grant of $500 million upon agreement on this project. At that time, the Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun, was the head of the High Negotiations Committee.

The Ministry of Oil added during its clarification that a line filled with Sicily Green Stream was established and work began in 2004, and regarding that the European network is considered one network and includes Greece as well, there is no point in establishing this line.

Dbeibeh participates in the work of the Development Partners Forum under the banner “Local Governance and Municipal Development”

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, participated in the work of the Development Partners Forum held under the banner “Local Governance and Municipal Development”, in coordination between the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank, and the participation of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, of Finance and of Local Government, the US envoy to Libya, accredited ambassadors, and the Director of the The Maghreb and Malta Department at the World Bank, and representatives of international organizations working in Libya, as well as the relevant Libyan institutions.

Dbeibeh also stressed the steps taken by the government to support the local administration by activating the Supreme Council for Local Administration and transferring the competencies of 12 sectors of ministries to the municipalities, issuing a decision to collect municipal revenues for local revenues, and activating the file of environmental sanitation and the Municipal Guard.

During the forum, the Ministry of Local Government presented a light presentation explaining the steps taken by the government and the challenges facing local development.

In the same context, representatives of international organizations and a number of ambassadors stressed, in their various words, the need to increase cooperation between the Ministries of Finance and Local Government in order to support the government’s measures to activate local administration, expressing their appreciation for the government’s positive steps to activate the decentralization project through a package of measures and decisions implemented in this file.

Central Bank reveals the state’s total revenues during ten months, which exceeded 92 billion and 200 million dinars

A statement by the Central Bank of Libya revealed, today, Tuesday, that the total state revenues during the ten months of the year 2022 amounted to approximately 92 billion and 200 million dinars, while the total government spending during the same period amounted to 71 billion and 700 million dinars, a surplus of about 20.5 billion dinars.

The Central Bank clarified in its statement that the state’s total revenues amounted to about 92.2 billion dinars, the largest proportion of which came from oil revenues, which amounted to 90.3 billion dinars, or about 98% of the total state revenues.

The Central Bank added that the total government spending during this year until the end of October amounted to 71 billion and 700 million dinars, including 32 billion and 600 million dinars for salaries, 7.4 billion for running expenses and more than 14 billion for support, in addition to about 17 billion for the National Oil Corporation and about 550 million for development.

The head of the Bakers Syndicate, Mahmoud Al-Araibi: “The western region has stopped the supply of flour to the city of Benghazi”

United States support Greece – Libya energy deal in a blow to Turkey

The State Department spokesperson said it is open to the possibility of an energy interconnection between Greece and Libya as the US continues to support projects that promote the energy interconnection of the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa with Europe.

The US ministry clarified that it emphasizes electricity connections, as it believes they help the energy transition process and enhance energy security.

The chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation, Farhat Bengdara, said that the country is considering the creation of two natural gas pipelines to Greece and the Egyptian city of Damietta.

The United States would consider supporting an energy interconnection deal between Greece and Libya, in a blow to Turkey given that it signed a preliminary energy exploration deal last Monday with the interim Libyan government, prompting Greece and Egypt to say they would oppose any activity in disputed areas of the eastern Mediterranean.

Today, Sunday, the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed, followed up, during the meeting at the Ministry’s office, with the Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, the executive procedures of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties, in the presence of directors of departments and offices on both sides.

The importance of aligning education outputs with the requirements of the labor market was discussed in the meeting, as well as the development of mechanisms to implement the rest of the memorandum’s items with regard to training, vocational training and work environment.

The director of Eye Hospital in Tripoli responds to rumors about 14 cases of blindness

The Director of Tripoli Eye Hospital, Rania Al-Khuja, said in an audio recording on the official page of the Hospital, today, Sunday, in her response to the circulation of some pages that 14 cases were blinded due to the presence of corrupt, contaminated and expired medicines inside the hospital, stressing that this news is false and considered as a rumor spread on social media, broadcasted  by those with personal interests.

Al-Khuja confirmed that all the results of the cases were positive, and there was no growth of any type of bacteria or contamination inside the operating rooms, and the drug control report indicated that the drug is suitable for human use and does not have any problem, after receiving 14 cases in the Emergency Department on Thursday. They were housed, and random samples of eye fluid were taken for some cases, and viruses and bacteria were analyzed.

She explained that some cases suffer from diabetic retinopathy and complications of diabetes within the retina, as a result of its presence in the body for a long time, so that about 55 to 60 injections are done every Thursday, with a list prepared by the retinal unit in the hospital.

Al-Khuja added that the doctors specializing in the retina diagnosed the cases as allergic reactions to the eye, stressing that cases of allergic reactions occur to any drug that treats chronic cases, and all cases were treated and recovered. They were discharged from the hospital in good condition and are closely followed up.

In her response, she also clarified that all medicines are stored inside the hospital’s warehouses, with the department heads following up on storage and expiry dates with a control certificate, stressing that the hospital provides the best medicines and medical service.
