The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Bayda, Ali Al-Hibri, said today, Tuesday, during his speech at the opening of the fourth session of the annual forum for the development of the banking sector the banner ‘‘The role of the banking sector in stimulating growth and strengthening the Libyan economy and reducing stagnation‘’, that the monetary sector is closed and the fiscal policy is characterized by random spending and there is no integrated economic vision for the society. “We have been in economic inactivity for 60 years and now we are waiting for a miracle”
For his part, Mohamed Bousnina clarified that there is no specific policy to address the economic stagnation and this matter requires the solidarity of state institutions, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance. As for the Central Bank in its current situation, it has no opportunity to do anything because monetary tools are tied.
