Aqila Saleh forms a committee by a decision prior to the investigation of the violations of Sanalla, and Al-Aribi defends him

Our source obtained a previous decision issued by Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh to form a committee to investigate the abuses of the head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, regarding the opening of a sales office in Britain and his failure to comply with the Council’s recommendations during the government’s accountability session to close these offices.

In a clear contradiction, according to our sources, a member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Energy and Resources Committee Issa Al-Araibi issued a statement regarding the follow-up to the meeting of the Council of Ministers in the National Unity Government last Thursday, and what the Prime Minister said regarding the approval of discussing the proposal of the Minister of Oil and Gas regarding changing the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation.

The statement confirms that the expired government of National Unity – according to the statement’s description – lacks the legal legitimacy to take such decisions and contradicts the circular issued by the Presidential Council about not violating the administrations of public institutions and authorities.

Hammuda: “The gas supply crisis resulting from the oil fields closure will exacerbate the electricity problem, so we demand that the Attorney General investigate those who cause this closure”

The spokesman for the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Hammuda, said today, Sunday, that the gas supply crisis resulting from the suspension of oil production and export resulted in the loss of nearly 1,000 megawatts of output from the public network, and that the continuation of this closure would aggravate and double the crisis, according to the estimates of the company’s management and specialists.

Hammuda explained that the National Unity Government is still seeking with all employees of the General Electricity Company to try and overcome the gas supply crisis and its impact on the network. The Government formed an operations room from the professional sectors to support efforts to resolve the crisis. However, the reasons are still directly related to stopping production and export.

He added that the National Unity Government demands that the Office of the Attorney General initiates an investigation into the elements behind the closure of the oil fields, noting that closing the oil fields and justifying it by political parties is a crime against the Libyan people by all standards and that the government will not tolerate the prosecution of those involved.
