During his meeting with Sanalla, the US ambassador stresses the need to resume oil production

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, held a meeting today, Tuesday, with the US Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, to discuss the critical importance of re-establishing Libyan oil production.

The US ambassador stressed that efforts are underway with international support to establish a Libyan-led mechanism to provide transparency regarding how oil revenues are spent, pointing out the need to resume oil production and give this mechanism an opportunity to work.

Richard pointed out that with rising temperatures, increasing power outages, rising prices, and the erosion of the oil infrastructure, there is no excuse for those who claim that cutting off oil is in the interest of the Libyan people.
