The Minister of Planning and Finance of the Libyan government, Ousama Hammad, revealed to our source that the total value of the budget proposed by the Libyan government for the current year 2022 is about 94.8 billion dinars.
Hammad explained that the budget was divided into four sections: salaries, which amounted to approximately 41.8 billion dinars, the chapter of operating expenses with a value of approximately 8.7 billion dinars, the section allocated to development amounted to 17.7 billion dinars, and support expenditures exceeded 26.6 billion dinars.
The Minister of Planning and Finance of the Libyan government stressed that the budget will be allocated to achieve several goals, the most important of which is putting laws and decisions issued by the House of Representatives into effect and focusing on solving citizens’ problems with regard to access to public services, especially the main ones represented in health and education.
He added that the government will focus on rationalizing spending and directing revenues to be used efficiently and equitably among all regions of the country, in addition to supporting and rehabilitating the oil sector as the main source of budget financing, in addition to the electricity sector and security agencies and authorities, and supporting the service aspect of subsidizing medicines, hygiene, water and fuels.
The minister indicated that the government will pay attention to young people through youth support programs by granting marriage, housing, training support, and small and medium enterprises. He also stressed that the preparation of salaries will be in accordance with the unified salary scales.
The Minister of Planning and Finance of the Libyan government noted that the government will support projects and programs for development, reconstruction and infrastructure, and will work to find appropriate solutions to the problems of struggling national companies.
Ousama Hammad stressed that the Planning and Finance Ministry of the Libyan government is ready to cooperate and coordinate fully with all the supervisory bodies and the Central Bank of Libya, stressing that the ministry will deal with complete transparency in publishing follow-up reports to implement the budget periodically.
