The Board of Directors of the Central Bank in Benghazi deplored, in a statement today, Wednesday, what was confirmed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives regarding the decision to dismiss the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Ali Al-Hibri, considering this as a violation of the independent monetary authority in ways that contradict the principle of the legal independence of the Central Bank, and called on the Presidency of the House of Representatives to clarify the matter.
The executive departments of the Central Bank in Benghazi also denounced this ill-conceived decision, announcing the suspension of work in the bank until the issuance of an end to this controversy from the legislative authority and the rehabilitation of the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Ali Al-Hibri.
