The ministerial committee formed by the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government to follow up on the implementation of the initiative to facilitate the benefit of housing for youth and needy families discussed in a meeting on Wednesday evening the subsequent procedures after launching the registration system and actually starting to sort the submitted applications, which exceeded one million and 30 thousand applications to benefit from the initiative, noting that the number of completed applications, which are ready for evaluation and sorting, are currently nearly 600,000 requests.
The meeting of the committee, which was held at the office of the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction in Tripoli, was chaired by the Minister of Housing and Reconstruction Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, accompanied by the Minister of Local Government Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi and the Minister of Youth Fathallah Al-Zinni, and in the presence of officials from the Real Estate Registration Authority, the State Property Authority and a number of contracting companies and real estate developers.
The committee examined the extent to which real estate developers can benefit from the success of this initiative by completing the stalled housing projects, the ability and seriousness of contracting companies and real estate developers to contribute to the implementation of the initiative, and the financing of these projects between the state guarantee and commercial banks.
The Chairman of the Committee and the Minister of Housing and Construction stressed the importance and role of the private sector in implementing the initiative, adding that the ministerial committee will meet with more contracting companies and real estate developers with the aim of expanding the circle of participation and integrating the private sector in a real way in implementing the initiative.
