The Businessman Husni Bey said that the priority of his company, Al-Mateen Company, the authorized agent in Libya for the global Ferrero products that manufacture Kinder chocolate, is « consumer health », stressing that Kinder products available in Libya and supplied by the official distributor are « safe and healthy ». And that the official supplier did not import from the Ferrero factories in Belgium, and did not import any of the five items suspected of being contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.
Al-Mateen Company, the authorized distributor in Libya for Ferrero products, had clarified in a letter to the Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Huwaij that the reservation and withdrawal of Kinder products is related to specific batches and types manufactured at Ferrero factories in Belgium, namely: Kinder Surprise is valid for July and October 2022, Kinder ChocoBonuses and Kinder Mini are valid for April and August 2022, Kinder Happy Moment and Kinder Mix are valid for August 2022.
Al-Mateen company for importing foodstuffs confirmed that these items are not among the items that are permanently imported by the company, noting that it did not import any of the Ferrero products from Belgium.
