The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Seddiq Al-Kabeer, was under pressure from some international parties to cut off funding for the national unity government led by Dbeibeh.
The Central Governor was also warned to not support the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, given the uncertainty surrounding his fate in power.
The international community is particularly concerned about the prospects of a new conflict and wants to cut off any financial resources that the Dbeibeh government could use to fuel the conflict.
