A source at the Central Bank of Libya revealed in a special statement to our source that the Central Bank is forming a crisis cell and ongoing communication between the Governor, Seddiq Al-Kabeer, and the Deputy Governor, Marai Al-Barasi, and the branches of commercial banks, to support bank balances worth 5.4 billion dinars to help them confront the crisis and meet the needs of the government and citizens to support the affected areas in the eastern region.
The source explained in his statement to our source that an air bridge was announced starting tomorrow morning to transport liquidity shipments to Al-Abraq Airport in the city of Al-Bayda and Benina Airport in the city of Benghazi, in order to provide the regions’ liquidity needs.
It is noteworthy that this came due to the force majeure that the cities of the eastern region are going through as a result of Hurricane Daniel, and the declaration of the Derna region as a disaster area and some areas of eastern Libya.
