The Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh held a meeting today, Monday, with the mayors of the municipalities of the southern region, in the presence of Minister of Local Government Badr El Din El Toumi, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs Walid El Lafi, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Adel Jumaa.
Dbeibeh stressed the need to activate the local administration and support decentralization through which municipalities can provide their services to citizens.
The meeting also touched on discussing the development budget for the fiscal year of 2022, the mechanism for distributing it to the municipalities, in addition to following up on the budget spent during the year of 2021, and the percentages of its achievement.
The Prime Minister stressed to the Minister of Local Government the necessity of completing the transfer of powers to the municipalities in accordance with the Local Administration Law.
