The Minister of Finance, during his meeting with the President of the NOC, confirms that the planned increase for the oil sector will be 67%, which will be among the salaries of July

Minister of Finance Khaled Al-Mabrouk met today, Tuesday, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat Ben Gdara at the National Oil Corporation’s headquarters in Tripoli, and in the presence of the directors of departments, offices and technical departments of both sides.

The meeting discussed the problems and obstacles facing the Corporation and its subsidiaries, including the planned increase for workers by 67%, while the Minister of Finance confirmed that the increase due according to the decision of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers will be during the current month of July and that the Ministry of Finance will work hard with all its departments to accomplish this entitlement to the oil sector and spend Operation and Development budget for the sector.

The meeting also concluded to intensify the periodic meetings between the Ministry of Finance and the National Oil Corporation in order to solve all the problems and obstacles facing the functioning of the Corporation in particular and the sector in general, as well as work to develop and improve the level of production and adopt the principle of disclosure and transparency of the revenues and expenditures of the sector in the service of the country and citizens.

The new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company, Mohammed Omar Hassan, denied to our source the authenticity of statements circulated on some social media pages, which claim that he said that “implementing the reform plan for the electricity sector in Libya needs 7 billion dinars”, stressing that these news are just rumors and not correct.

He had officially received his duties this morning after completing the handover ceremony with the committee assigned by the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, at the company’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, in the presence of a number of board members. Today, Sunday, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company officially assumed his duties amid a hand-over ceremony between the committee assigned by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Mohammed Omar Hassan, and in the presence of a number of board members.

The new CEO also held his first meeting with the members of the Board of Directors and in the presence of the Director General of the General Electricity Company, Mohammed Ben Ismail.

The mayor of Tripoli reveals the damage to the areas where the clashes took place

The Mayor of Central Tripoli, Ibrahim Al-Khalifi, stated that: “Tomorrow, the damages will be revealed by the committee to the areas where the clashes took place .”

The Mayor added: “Today, the mayor of Zawiat Al-Dahmani has counted the damage that occurred there, as we have temporarily opened the road. There is a petition signed by the people of the area to convert the damaged building into a national library as before.”

National Oil Corporation: “The current production has reached 860,000 barrels and this is what we exactly seek”

The National Oil Corporation and its companies announced that they had achieved a relative increase in the volume of oil production, as current production reached 860,000 barrels per day, while the normal production before reopening the fields was 560,000 barrels per day.

The Corporation stressed its efforts to increase production and return it to its normal rates of one million and two hundred thousand barrels per day within two weeks.

Today, Saturday, Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh denounced the armed clashes in the city of Tripoli, intimidating citizens and endangering their lives and property.

Aqila called on the parties claiming to mobilize these armed groups to bear their responsibility for the unfortunate events, offering sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

The spokesman for the Emergency and Ambulance Service, Usama Ali, told our source that 3 civilians, including a child, were killed and two were injured, due to the ongoing clashes in some areas of Tripoli.

He added that the agency evacuated the university dormitory in the Al-Farnaj area and transferred the students to a hotel in Al-Dahra area, calling on citizens to stay in a safe place and communicate with the agency in emergency cases.
