Al-Kabeer discusses with the Secretary-General of the United Nations the paths of unifying the Central Bank and its efforts to maintain the financial sustainability of the state

Today, Monday, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Seddiq Al-Kabeer, discussed with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Abdullah Batili, the tracks of unifying the Central Bank of Libya and its efforts to maintain the financial sustainability of the state and achieve financial and monetary stability, and cooperation initiatives with international parties and institutions in promoting the efforts of the bank in all fields.

For his part, Batili stressed the important role played by the bank in developing the level of disclosure and transparency adopted by the Central Bank, as well as continuing communication and support for the mission for the bank’s efforts and assistance in its initiatives in integrity and transparency.

The Misrata Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee signs a joint cooperation agreement with the Sfax Chamber of Commerce Committee

On Sunday, the Chairman of the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Committee, Fathi Al-Amin, signed with the Chairman of the Committee of the Sfax Chamber of Commerce, Rida Fourati, a joint cooperation agreement between the two sides, to enhance the role of the private sector and a partnership contract targeting projects in different fields and exchanging information on local and international markets, in the presence of the Chairman of the Libyan Tunisian Chamber Management Committee, Samir Mahdi.

This came after a delegation of businessmen from the Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, urging the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Trade.

Al-Abed stressed the importance of training and vocational training in the field of bread and baking industry, which is related to food security, and that the local labor market requires craftsmen and professionals in this field, as specialized training courses will be held in this field, and that an agreement was previously reached with the Bakers Syndicate to employ young people after granting them Certifications and licenses.

Today, Saturday, the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed, participated in the closing events of the Huawei Information Technology Academy, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affairs of the People’s Republic of China to Libya, Wang Qimin, and the sub-regional director of Huawei’s businesses in Libya and Tunisia.

Al-Abed stressed the importance of activating the memorandum of understanding signed last February between the Academy and the Human Resources Development Fund to train and qualify job seekers in ICT-related disciplines and provide them with the necessary training, stressing the strategic partnership in general in the field of Information and communications technology.

For his part, Wang Qimin added that there should be continuous commitment to developing ICT talents in Libya, and encouraged more fruitful cooperation between Libya and China in the fields of technologies and high talents to raise the bilateral relationship to a higher level.

Al-Mashri: “Changing all sovereign positions is inevitable and irreversible, especially the position of the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya”

The head of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri, said that changing all sovereign positions is inevitable and irreversible, referring to his agreement with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, that the two Councils will initiate the procedures for changing the sovereign positions, foremost of which is the position of the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya.

Al-Mashri added, in statements to Al-Hadath channel yesterday, Saturday, that the Governor of the Central Bank, Seddiq Al-Kabeer, has eleven years in his position. If he is a good person, then the country has benefited from him throughout this period, and if he is not a good person, 11 years are enough for him, stressing that they are going to change all the sovereign positions in Libya.

National Oil Corporation denies the existence of any smuggling operations from the oil ports

The National Oil Corporation denied what was circulated on social media, in a correspondence on behalf of the Corporation, regarding suspicions of smuggling oil and its illegal products.

During his opening speech, Al-Huwaij stressed the importance of the economic diversification project, which comes among the priorities of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, and the urgent need for the participation of all Libyan sectors in it, spreading the culture of investment and exploiting the diverse economic opportunities that Libya abounds in, stressing the importance of the Libyan-European partnership in all economic, political, security and environmental fields.

For her part, Francesca praised the importance and commitment of the European Union and Expertise France to support the improvement of the business environment and the importance of the economic diversification project, which is the advanced stage of the private sector support program in Libya, which is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Trade in addition to a number of sectors.

The head of the Libyan Investment Authority confirms that he received threats and blackmail messages from the Belgian Prince, Laurent

The Relations and Media Officer of the Libyan Investment Authority, Louay Al-Qario, revealed to our source that the head of the Libyan Investment Authority, Ali Mahmoud, had received threatening and blackmail messages from the Belgian Prince Laurent with the aim of pressuring him to settle the alleged debts of the Belgian prince to the Libyan Ministry of Agriculture.

The head of the Libyan Investment Authority, Ali Mahmoud, explained during a press interview with the newspaper, Africa, that the Belgian prince used his influence by issuing an arrest warrant by the Belgian authorities and circulating it through international cooperation mechanisms with the aim of restricting his freedom despite the fact that the Libyan Investment Authority and its head had nothing to do with the alleged debts of the Belgian prince.

Ali Mahmoud affirmed his rejection of all measures taken against him, pointing to the harm that he and his family sustained due to the threats and the subsequent actions taken by the Belgian authorities, which are considered implementation of these threats.

He added that the Belgian authorities had previously submitted requests to the Security Council Sanctions Committee at the beginning of the year 2021 with the aim of granting the Belgian prince his alleged debts from the funds of the frozen company at Euroclear Bank in Brussels, stressing that he objected to this request before the Security Council, which responded to this objection and refused to grant Authorizing the Belgian authorities to use the company’s funds for the benefit of the Belgian Prince.

At the conclusion of his speech, Ali Mahmoud, stressed that the Libyan Investment Authority is a sovereign fund that operates at the international level and will spare no effort in defending its rights.

The Public Prosecution orders the pretrial detention of officials in Wahda Bank, Al-Ajeilat branch, on charges of forgery of banking instruments and money laundering

The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the director of Wahda Bank, Al-Ajeilat branch, his deputy, and the head of the current accounts department in the bank, on charges of forging bank instruments and money laundering.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office explained that the defendants had committed illegal banking operations on customer accounts through transfers to accounts managed with their knowledge using forged bank instruments, in addition to their carrying out the three stages of money laundering, namely deposit, disguise and merger with the intent of disguising the source of criminal proceeds and making them available from a seemingly legitimate source upon the completion of their seizure.

Aguila and Al-Mashri announce the agreement to change and unify the sovereign positions

During a press conference held today in Morocco, the heads of the House of Representatives and of the Supreme Council of the State announced their agreement regarding the change and unification of sovereign positions.

The head of the Supreme Council of State also said that the issue of sovereign positions should be resolved before the end of this year and institutions should be unified.
