Today, Monday, members of Musaid Customs Center seized a truck loaded with a large number of liquor, approximately 2300 bottles of whiskey of different sizes, as well as a number of narcotic pills, amounting to 19.000 tablets.
The members of Musaid Customs Center under the supervision of the head thoroughly investigated them as soon as they were seized, as these liquors were found hidden behind water barrels, and the quantity was counted and a detailed report was prepared and directly related to legal matters.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Omran Al-Qayeb, said that a thousand university teachers are waiting for their rights to be delegated abroad, and this number is large. University teachers in the specialties in Libya will be issued internal dispatch decisions for them, and all those who cannot complete their studies will be dismissed.
He added by saying: « The increase in the salaries of university teachers will not be included in Law No. 4 of 2018, following the government’s instructions to exclude the segment of repeaters from the inclusion decision because their contracts are temporary, and employees will be paid according to the increase during the current month ».
He pointed out that the minimum work for a university teachers is only two years, and their number must be reduced and dismissed during the next period if they do not succeed in studying at home, as what caused the destruction of the university teacher’s job in Libya is the administrative corruption practiced by university presidents, by appointing large numbers of teaching assistants.
He continued by saying: « The problem of delayed salaries for university teachers and the non-disbursement of monthly rewards to them belongs to the administration of every university that is reluctant to provide services to its employees, and an electronic dispatch system will be established to organize the internal dispatch of university teachers and follow up on scholarships ».
University teachers studying at home are also entitled to free housing in youth hostels, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In addition to the budget of Libyan universities for internal delegation, it is disbursed from the Ministry of Finance on a regular basis, but a number of university officials do not spend it for the benefit of repeaters sent inside.
He stressed that it was the wars that disrupted the issuue of external delegation, and teaching assistants waited for 10 years to send, and universities did not find solutions for them except dismissal from work. If they are dismissed, they will not find another sector that includes them because of their age, and the specializations available in Libyan universities to which repeaters will be sent to study inside will be announced during this week.
The Chairman of the Corporation’s Board of Directors, Mustafa Sanalla, opened the Tahara field, which is operated by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company in the Hamada area, and did not disclose any details about the field’s production.
Sanalla said in a press conference last month that his country intends to maintain oil production at the level of 1.2 million barrels per day in 2022. He added that the National Oil Corporation hopes to be able to increase production more than that. He pointed out that the Corporation intends to add two new fields this year, which will add approximately 18,000 barrels per day to production capacity.
The Media Center of the Speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed that the Presidency of the Council demanded the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddiq Al-Kabeer to continue disbursing (Chapter One) concerning the salaries with the increments whose laws were approved by the House of Representatives, and (Chapter Four) concerning the support only from the budget for the legally expired caretaker government.

Today, Sunday, Mustafa Sanalla, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, met with the Chairman of the Management Committee of Nafusah Oil Operation B.V, Muhammad Jamal Al-Din, a member of the Company’s Management Committee, Elias Al-Azabi, and the Director of the Financial Department of the company, Ali Tuwaijer, in the presence of a member of the NOC’s Board of Directors for Exploration and Production, Abu al-Qasim Shanqir.
The company’s current activities, work program and proposed projects for the year 2022 and the difficulties that impede their implementation were discussed, in addition to reviewing the budget required to complete these projects, and a number of technical matters related to the company’s projects were also reviewed.
In turn, the Chairman of Nafusah Oil Operation’s Board of Directors explained the company’s programs to be implemented related to the implementation of these projects and with the help of the technical competencies of the companies sector, in order to contribute to the completion of its projects, stressing that the security situation is excellent at the company’s sites.
For his part, Sanalla affirmed the Corporation’s unlimited support for Nafusah in order to achieve all its objectives and implement projects on which the Corporation relies on increasing production and supporting the national economy.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Tripoli, Seddik Al-Kabeer, met via video today, Sunday, with the US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury, Eric Mayer.
The meeting discussed the economic and financial situation, as well as public spending for 2022, in addition to the positive progress in the project to unify the Central Bank
The Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs in the National Unity Government, Adel Jumaa, said that the Prime Minister’s initiative to allocate housing units will include only units that have been suspended for more than ten years and have not been previously allocated.
During a press conference held this evening at the Cabinet Office in Tripoli, Adel Jumaa explained that the government reassures all citizens that the housing units previously allocated to them and have documents indicating that are not the ones targeted for distribution during this initiative.
The minister added that more than ten years ago, the Urban Development Authority prepared a number of plans to distribute them as plots of land, and work on this project was halted, noting that the Ministry of Youth worked in coordination with the Authority to identify these plots in cities and its legal and technical procedures.
The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Prime Minister Adel Jumaa said, « We assure citizens who have an allotment of unfinished apartments that they are not covered by the Prime Minister’s initiative regarding the distribution of 100,000 apartments ».
He added: « The Ministry of Youth has worked to determine the plots of land that will be distributed to young people in various cities, and the Savings and Real Estate Investment Bank will be the executive management of the Prime Minister’s initiative regarding loans ».
He continued by saying: « We will start with the Prime Minister’s initiative regarding health insurance for employees aged 55 to 65 years, as the housing units targeted by this initiative have been suspended for 10 years and were not previously allocated ».
He pointed out that the required conditions and how to deduct the value of the loan will be announced by the Savings Bank in the coming period, stressing that the loans are free of usurious interests.
The Higher Committee for Troubled Companies, headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation, Husam Al-Mzoughi, discussed in its second meeting, which was held this morning, Sunday, at the Ministry’s office in Tripoli, ways to find serious solutions for workers in stumbling and withdrawing companies.
The chairman and members of the committee agreed that the Labor Inspection and Occupational Safety Department at the Ministry of Labor would list all troubled national companies, the number of their employees, the financial values that were paid, and the outstanding debts, and addressing the conditions of workers who have reached retirement age in cooperation with the Social Security Fund after settling their financial conditions.
It was also agreed to find serious solutions to activate the companies that contribute to the development of the economy and the advancement of the public sector, while taking into account the results of the work of the previous committees, and emphasizing the urgent procedure to pay the dues of the withdrawing companies before reaching the month of Ramadan, according to what was agreed upon in the minutes of the committee’s first meeting.
