The Public Prosecution orders the pretrial detention of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Zawia University, to be investigated for committing the crime of forgery and collecting illegal material benefits

The Deputy Public Prosecution in the Office of the General Attorney initiated investigation procedures into the incident of the accused assuming the position of Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Zawia University without having the exact license, or the equivalent of certificates recognized by the competent authority.

The procedures for collecting evidence revealed that the accused had stopped studying to obtain the leave for which he had been delegated since 2009, as well as intentionally submitting an accurate leave certificate attributed to the University of Delaware in the United States, contrary to the truth.

The investigator ended up ordering the pretrial detention of the accused, pending investigation, for committing the crime of forgery and collecting illegal material benefits.

Sanalla discusses with the Deputy Prime Minister the obstacles facing the Corporation and the scarcity of the oil sector budget

The Chairman of the Directors Board of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, met today, Thursday, with the Deputy Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Ramadan Abu Janah, to discuss a number of issues.

During the meeting, Sanalla confirmed that the oil sector is going through several obstacles, the most prominent of which is the scarcity of financial budgets that the corporation needs to run the sector’s business, and to carry out the necessary maintenance work to ensure the continuation of production operations, and to raise its rates in accordance with its future plans in support of the national economy.

For his part, Abu Janah expressed his strong support for the National Oil Corporation, as it is a neutral professional institution that works for the benefit of all the Libyan people, stressing the need to finance it with the necessary budgets in order to be able to achieve its goals.

The projects of the South Refinery and the Gas Factory were also discussed, as well as the fact that the Corporation did not obtain the necessary funding that would enable it to complete and implement these important projects.

Aoun stresses working in accordance with the Libyan oil law, as it is one of the best laws in the oil industry in the world

The Minister of Oil and Gas in the National Unity Government, Mohamed Aoun, met today, Thursday, in the presence of general managers, directors of departments and offices, and advisors to the ministry.

The meeting discussed the mechanisms of working on the energy transition file, in addition to discussing the activation of e-government.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the minister stressed the need to work according to the Libyan oil law, as it is one of the best laws of the oil industry in the world.

Libyan Iron and Steel Company reviews with the Indian company FGE what it has accomplished inside the company

The Chairman and members of the Directors Board of the Libyan Iron and Steel Company, in the presence of a number of department managers and leaders, met with a representative of the Indian company FGE.

The meeting discussed a review of what has been achieved over the past six years, where an agreement was signed six years ago aimed at raising the company’s production capacity and conducting maintenance and operating work for the third unit of the direct reduction plant, the steel plant (1) and the maintenance of the power generation and water desalination plant.

Dbeibeh: « Activating local procedures and distributing the development budget to municipalities will contribute to activating local administration »

The Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh held an extensive meeting today, Thursday, with the mayors of the municipalities of the central regions, the western coast, Al-Jabal, and Greater Tripoli, to follow up on the results of the first meeting of the Supreme Council for Local Administration for the year of 2022, and the measures taken to implement the directives issued by it.

The head of government focused on the importance of solidarity to activate the local administration, which is the only solution to distributing Libyan wealth, fighting decentralization and eliminating it, stressing that transferring competencies, activating local procedures and distributing the development budget to the municipalities will contribute to activating the local administration.

The Central Bank of Libya announced the arrival of the fourth shipment of liquidity to Benina Airport in Benghazi, with a value of 100 million dinars.

This shipment comes within the framework of the shipments planned to be transferred with a value of one billion dinars, starting from last Saturday, according to the agreed-upon dates and within the framework of the schedule of shipments programmed to be transferred to the Benghazi branch of the Central Bank of Libya.

Turchetto said: « Tougher measures against oil smuggling are being studied »

The commander of the Irini Operation Stefano Turchetto revealed that he is currently conducting a study at the European level to make the measures to combat oil smuggling in Libya, which is a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, more decisive.

Turchetto stressed that « In this particularly turbulent political phase in Libya, where two competing political alliances are battling for power, the control of any illegal exports of crude oil becomes critical, which the non-passage of its revenues via the National Oil Corporation may fuel the instability in Libya, leading to an increase in the illegal human trafficking as well as arms smuggling to opposition factions, threatening the fragile ceasefire in place. »

« Our work aims to inform the United Nations, through the issuance of special reports, of events and situations related to this phenomenon, and a study is currently being conducted at the European level, regarding the possibility of making Irini’s work more effective in carrying out this delicate task, » Turchetto explained.

The Minister of Agriculture in the government assigned by the House of Representatives calls on the concerned authorities to stop all exchange disbursment except for salaries

The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock in the Libyan government affiliated to the House of Representatives, Younes Buhassan Al-Urfi, issued a decree for agents, directors of departments and offices, and the financial controller of the ministry.

He demanded the suspension of any contracts after the date of granting confidence to the government by the House of Representatives, and stopping the exchange in all its aspects and on all chapters, with the exception of that first chapter related to the item of « Salaries ».
