The Minister of Housing and Reconstruction participates in the United Nations General Assembly meeting to assess progress in implementing the New Urban Agenda

Today, Thursday, April 28, 2022, the Minister of Housing and Reconstruction in the Government of National Unity, Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi, participated in the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to assess the implementation of the new urban agenda, in the General Assembly Hall in New York, accompanied by the head of the Urban Planning Department, Abdul Hakim Al-Sultani and a number of consultants and specialists at the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction.

During this meeting, representatives of member states of the General Assembly of the United Nations listened and discussed the assessment of the new urban agenda and their recommendations in particular.

Al-Ghawi also reviewed the steps and decisions taken by the Government of National Unity that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, including activating local administration by enabling municipalities to exercise their powers, establishing reconstruction and youth support funds, launching the youth housing initiative and needy families, and adopting an urgent short plan to address the existing urbanization situation at the local level within the plan to return to life launched by the Prime Minister for the Government of National Unity.

The General Electricity Company announces the disconnection of the electrical supply at Tarhuna transfer station

The General Electricity Company announced the disconnection of the electrical supply to all lines feeding from the station, due to the works of renewing the electrical network equipment at the Tarhuna substation, at a voltage of 11/30/66/220 kV, which will start from nine a.m on Friday, the 29th of this April.

Also, the electrical supply will be disconnected for all lines feeding from the Al-Barakat transformer, at a voltage of 11/30/220 kV, to secure the work site.

According to the company, the areas that will lose supply are Tarhuna city, Al-Khadra, Al-Dawon, Abyar Meji, Souk Al-Ahad, Sidi Assiid and Msallata.

Al-Huwaij issues a decision to extend the grace period for the import of pasta and vermicelli

The Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity Mohammed Al-Huwaij issued the Resolution No. 483 of 2022 with a ruling report amending Article Two of the Minister of Economy and Trade Resolution No. 340 of 2021 regarding organizing the supply of a commodity.

The decision stipulates that the grace period for the import of pasta, vermicelli and similar items in the Harmonized System for Classification and Classification of Goods (19021110-190021910) for a period of two months starting from April 27, 2022.

The Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, met today, Wednesday, with the Deputy Secretary of the US Treasury, Eric Meyer, to discuss ways to develop cooperation between the Libyan Ministries of Finance and the US Treasury.

While the two parties discussed providing technical support to the Libyan Ministry of Finance in the public financial system reform program and assisting in developing an advanced financial system to address the problems and difficulties facing the ministry in cooperation with the World Bank in accomplishing the tasks entrusted to it under the legislation in force.

This came during the presence of the Minister of Finance in Washington to participate in the Spring Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

The Customs Authority completes the procedures for appointing contract employees

The Director General of the Customs Authority, Major General Suleiman Ali Salem, gave instructions to the Director of the General Administration of Administrative and Financial Affairs.

Al-Huwaij and Al-Abed discuss ways to create opportunities for job seekers within the investment map

The Minister of Economy and Trade in the National Unity Government Mohammed Al-Huwaij discussed with the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Abed the creation of job opportunities for researchers listed in the Ministry of Labor within the investment map of the Ministry of Economy, and the implementation of rehabilitation and training programs that match the requirements of the labor market and the targeted projects in all sectors.

Al-Huwaij and Al-Abed discussed the mechanism of cooperation in attracting entrepreneurs to support the labor market through incubators and business centers in the National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ministry of Economy, which provides the necessary technical support, including the technology incubator that works on digital transformation and strengthening the knowledge economy.

The two ministers agreed to increase coordination between the Ministries of Economy and of Labor regarding rehabilitation and training programs for researchers that fit the requirements of the labor market, creating opportunities for them through projects targeted to be implemented within the investment map, and supporting small and medium projects that provide job opportunities away from the government job, as well as regulating economic and service activities and expatriate workers, which contributes to the development and diversification of the national economy.

Dbeibeh is following up on a number of projects in the city of Misrata, as part of the plan of returning to life

Today, Thursday, the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, accompanied by a number of ministers and the mayor of Misrata, conducted a field tour of a number of projects in the city of Misrata, as part of the plan of returning to life.

Dbeibeh visited the project to establish a passenger terminal at Misrata International Airport, where he was briefed on the ongoing work there and the percentage of completion in it.

The tour also included a visit to the medical clinics complex in the city, where he toured the medical departments and clinics in the complex, and was briefed on the maintenance work being carried out there, in order to improve the quality of medical services provided to the citizens.

The tour also included a field visit to the Central Park and Victory Square, as well as a tour inside one of the popular markets in the city center.
