Stephanie Williams emphasized in a telephone call with Libyan Prime Minister Fathi Bashagha the need to cease the use of Libyan oil production as a weapon for political purposes and called to end the oil fields closure.

Williams said that she has contributed with Bashagha that oil revenues are the lifeline of the Libyan people. They must be administered in a transparent manner and be fully accountable and distributed fairly among all Libyans.
