The Man Made River Project (MMR) emphasized that the operation and maintenance teams are still working to restore water supply to normal as soon as possible in the Hassouna System and Sahil Al-Jafara.

It said that it is difficult to determine the expected time for water supply to reach Tripoli and other surrounding areas.

” Water supply will not return before 48 hours, at the very minimum,” it stressed.

It should be noted that the Man Made River Project announced the return of electricity supply to all of its wells and fields in the Hassouna System, and Sahil Al-Jafara, resulting in resumption of water supply to Tripoli city and the surrounding areas in the central and eastern tracks.

Electricity supply, which feeds the western and northern fields, returned on Friday after a week-long stoppage, due to attacks by armed groups, who forced the station’s operators to switch off electricity supply to both fields, causing hardship to innocent citizens.
