The return of the embassy to Tripoli and the granting of visas were the most prominent topics of discussion between the Libyan ambassador to Russia and his Russian counterpart Chargé d’Affairs
A phone call took place yesterday, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, between Libya’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation, Mohamed Abdullah Al-Maghrawi with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Russian Embassy in Libya and resident in Tunisia, Jamshid Poltaev.
The Libyan ambassador touched on ways to make the plan to open the Russian embassy in Tripoli succeed and start its work from the Libyan capital in the near future. He also spoke about what was recently circulated on social media about the claim that the Russian embassy in Libya, residing in Tunisia, had stated that the embassy had stopped granting visas to Libyan citizens as well as Libyan businessmen, which was refuted by the Russian Chargé d’Affairs, and said that “the work is taking place according to the usual context and that there are no restrictions imposed on Libyan citizens.”
