The new head of the General Electricity Company denies the validity of the statements attributed to him that the electricity reform plan needs 7 billion dinars
The new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company, Mohammed Omar Hassan, denied to our source the authenticity of statements circulated on some social media pages, which claim that he said that “implementing the reform plan for the electricity sector in Libya needs 7 billion dinars”, stressing that these news are just rumors and not correct.
He had officially received his duties this morning after completing the handover ceremony with the committee assigned by the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, at the company’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, in the presence of a number of board members. Immediately after the handover ceremony, the new board of directors held its first meeting in the presence of the company’s Director General, Mohammed bin Ismail.
