The National Oil Corporation completes the procedures for the establishment of the new water wells in the municipality of Bent Bayya

Within the sustainable development projects of the National Oil Corporation and under the auspices of the Repsol, Total Energies, OMV and Equinor, and the supervision of Akakus Oil Operations Company, the operator of the El-Sharara oil field, the delivery and receipt procedures for the new water wells that were drilled for the benefit of Bint Bayh Municipality were completed. The first well is located in the locality of Khulayf and the other is in the locality of Bent Bayya. The installation of submersible pumps and their accessories and the completion of the experiments, cleaning and pumping works have taken place successfully.

The handover ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Bent Bayya Municipality, Ashraf Al-Musleh and the Municipal Council member, Omar Abdul Aziz,  in addition to, Miftah Al-Sharif, from the Department of Sustainable Development at the Corporation, Al-Senussi Al-Hajjaji and Mondher Al-Buishi from the part of Repsol and Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah Al-Hajj and Abdul Aziz Al-Khanjari from the part of Akakus Company, with the presence of a group of interested people and families.

These wells, which were established today, come as part of an integrated project to dig 11 wells in the Al-Wadi area distributed over the municipalities of Ubari, Al-Gharifa, and Bent Beyya, To date, five have been completed and work is underway on dig other wells that are expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2022.

This project also includes the maintenance of 25 upper water tanks distributed throughout the area of Al-Wadi, the maintenance of which has been completed and handed over to the local authorities during the recent period. The works linking the wells to the tanks and the main network within the cities will soon begin.
