The Projects Implementation Department of the Transportation Ministry has concluded a contract for the maintenance and expansion project of the (Ajdabiya – Jalu) road, with a length of 252 km, relating to the Coalition of Egyptian companies (Orascom, Hassan Allam, and Engineers), after completing the procedures for approval by the Audit Bureau.

This project comes as part of a series of contracts that the National Unity Government has given great attention as this road is the main that connects the oasis cities in the north-east, as well as part of the road leading to the city of Kufra in the south-west. It suffers a significant structural damage, causing traffic accidents for its users, resulting in loss of life and vehicles.
