The Counsellor General Attorney Seddik Al-Sour discussed yesterday, Tuesday, with the Public Prosecutor of the Italian Court of Cassation, Giovanni Salvi, and the Director of the National Department against Organized Crime and Mafia in Italy, Cafiro Di Rayo, ways to enhance cooperation between the Libyan and Italian Public Prosecutions in the field of criminal justice.

The meeting also dealt with the mechanisms for implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the Libyan Public Prosecution and the Anti-Mafia and Terrorism Department, including defining a point of contact that contributes to exchanging information and sending documents related to the investigations within procedurally acceptable deadlines, in addition to the file of those convicted of Libyan nationality and the development of procedures in their regard.

The General Attorney’s Office indicated that the meeting was also an opportunity to share experience with the Italian side in the framework of supporting the Information and Communications Control Department, preparing and implementing training programs aimed at increasing the knowledge level of the Libyan Public Prosecution members and raising their expertise and competence in cooperation with the Italian Public Prosecution.
