During his speech in closed circles at the meeting of the Executive Council of the African Union, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Accord, Mohamed Siala, called for reducing the contribution of member states to the African Union budget for next year, so that the 2021 budget would be austerity due to the exceptional economic conditions of African countries suffering from Covid-19 pandemic.
Siala stressed the importance of the role of regional mechanisms in bringing peace and stability in the region, as they fall within the efforts of the African Union and the regional economic groups, in addition to the need to apply quotas in the distribution of jobs among the countries of the Union.
