Shakshak discusses with Abu Bridaa the procedures of Brega Petroleum Marketing Company in determining the annual need for fuel
The head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, Ibrahim Abu Bridaa, the company’s procedures in determining the state’s fuel needs in light of the increasing demand and the high supply indicators in recent years.
Abu Bridaa explained the difficulty of estimating the need in light of the lack of control over smuggling operations, and the lack of a clear policy to reduce consumption, indicating that what is currently used in determining the annual need is to calculate the average consumption of last year in addition to a constant coefficient of growth.
For his part, Shakshak stressed the need to work on determining the expected quantities accurately, in a manner commensurate with the real need and organizing the supply file for large consumers, in addition to intensifying efforts in cooperation with the competent security authorities to reduce the phenomenon of smuggling.
Shakshak stressed the need to expedite the transfer of contracts for tracking systems to ensure monitoring of the distribution path and limit fuel waste and its leakage outside the borders, as well as cooperation with the Audit Bureau committees charged with evaluating the fuel file and providing them with the necessary data and information to accomplish their tasks as required.
