Today, Thursday, the President of the Audit Bureau Khaled Shakshak held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Finance, the directors of the relevant departments and the International Medical Center in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in order to complete the measures taken to treat patients with spinal muscular atrophy and to discuss the difficulties and problems that led to delays in the implementation of the agreement concluded in particular. .
The meeting focused on the procedures related to the cases that have been evaluated and accepted for treatment at the center, while the meeting concluded that immediate treatment for emergency cases will start at the beginning of next week, with the required amount for these cases being transferred directly to the center. As for the rest of the cases, it was agreed to open a documentary credit to implement the agreement concluded with the aforementioned center.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health has signed this agreement with the International Medical Center of the Egyptian government, in the form of a twinning program that includes case treatment, training and knowledge transfer with the aim of localizing treatment and following-up cases in Libya.
