Othman Abdul Jalil to our source: “We will urgently provide specialized medicines for patients with tumors, AIDS and kidneys”

The Minister of Health of the Libyan government, Othman Abdul Jalil, said in a statement to our source on Monday evening that he had contacted the Prime Minister, Osama Hammad, to find a solution to the problem of lack of specialized medicines for patients with tumors, AIDS, kidneys, and others, indicating that the Prime Minister had instructed him to allocate an urgent sum of money to the Ministry of Health to cover the costs of providing these medicines.

Othman Abdul Jalil explained that these specialized medicines are usually supplied through the medical supply system, but due to some problems they were not supplied by the authority. “There is a shortage of medicines, and patients are in dire need of these medicines, adding that at the beginning of this year the same happened. The issue and the government was forced to assign a company to provide these medicines as soon as possible, and this was done and there was a quantity of medicines sufficient for three months.”

He continued: “Now the medicines have run out and we returned to the same problem in light of the lack of provision by the medical supply system, so we had to find solutions and communicated with the Prime Minister of the government, who instructed him to allocate an urgent sum of money to the Ministry of Health to cover the costs of providing specialized medicines.”

Abdul Jalil indicated that the required financial value for the supply of these drugs has not been determined, indicating that he will communicate with agents of major international companies that manufacture these drugs to provide them as soon as possible.
