Libya adds 17 coronavirus cases on Thursday

The National Center for Disease Control analyzed on Thursday, July 02, 787 blood samples.

The center confirmed that 770 samples have tested negative for Covid-19 and 17 others tested positive.

The number of COVID-19 infections in Libya has risen to 891, with 641 active cases.

The 17 new cases are distributed as following:

  • Zliten: 2 cases
  • Yafran: 1 case
  • Al Rhibat  :1 case Benghazi: 2 cases
  • Tripoli: 3 cases
  • Misrata: 3 cases
  • Sebha: 5 Cases
  • Banghazi: 2 cases

NCDC also confirmed the recovery of one patient, raising the number of recoveries to 224.

The death toll of Covid-19 has risen to 26 after the registration of one death from Al Jufra.

According to the National Center for Disease Control in Tripoli, more than half of the cases are concentrated in Sebha city, the capital of Fezzan region in southern Libya, then comes the capital, Tripoli, followed by the city of Misrata. Benghazi, the second-largest city in Libya and the rest of the eastern cities of Cyrenaica, continue to record fewer cases compared to its population.
