Granting diplomatic passports for members of the Assembly, their spouses and their children was unanimously issued

The member of the Representatives assembly Ibrahim Al-Zaghid said that the decision to grant diplomatic passports to members of the Council, their wives and their children was submitted to the Chairman Aqila Saleh before he took leave and was referred to the Legislative Committee and issued by unanimity and was not debatable.

Al-Zaghid explained through TV statements that any deputy says he had no knowledge of the subject of diplomatic passports, then he certainly does not attend the meetings of the assembly because this is where the decision was presented to the Legislative Committee, after receiving a letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Njala Al-Mankoush, in which she warned that, in accordance with an Act of the General People’s Congress, only the Assembly of Representatives Chairman and the First and Second Vice-President could hold diplomatic passports. However, The rest of the members are issued with a special diplomatic passport and she refrained from renewing diplomatic passports.

He added that the deputies and accordingly, they made a memorandum for the chairman Akila Salah in particular before taking leave, and then referred to the Legislative Committee, which emerged by a summary submitted to the Speaker of the Assembly of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi. The assembly voted for it unanimously and the decree was passed, which is a non-debatable subject.

The Assembly of Representatives had passed a decree signed by Fawzi al-Nuairi, saying to grant each member of the Assembly a political passport, which he was entitled to retain and will be valid even after the expiration of his term in the Assembly, as well as to grant political passports to their spouses and special passports to their children.
