“After 2011, corruption and administrative divisions have ravaged the majority of state-owned companies,” the head of Afriqiyah Airways branch in the eastern region, Seraj Al-Fitouri, said during a televised interview for Libyan WTV channel and Tabadul Platform.
Al-Fitouri also blamed the presidential Council for the collapse of airlines, among which Afriqiyah Airways.
Al-Fitouri declared that the funds that were in Benghazi before 2019, (the end date of his mission in the financial administration), were all in vain.
He also denied receiving 50 million dinars, stressing that the company’s accounts, in addition to all account statements at the Libyan Audit Bureau prove that he received nothing.
