Finance Minister and the Chief of Staff and Social Security follow up on the military retirement file
Today, Wednesday, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs followed the military retirement file and the work of the committee formed regarding the completion of settlement procedures between the Social Security Fund and the Ministry of Finance regarding military retirement and reviewing the apparent deficit in military pensions and bonuses, during a meeting in the presence of the directors of the departments of each of the military accounts headed by the General Staff and Resources of the Ministry of Finance, Military Pension and Finance of the Social Security Fund.
During the meeting, the legal deductions specified in Law No. 43 of 1974 and their suitability to the current reality were discussed. The meeting agreed on the need to continue working among all executive agencies in order to settle the conditions of military retirees and to prepare a detailed memorandum by the Ministry of Finance and the Social Security Fund to amend the Military Retirement Law.
This was done in implementation of the instructions of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.
