Dbeibeh stresses the need to control the prices of basic commodities and not allow traders to increase their prices

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh met today tuesday, with the Ministers of Economy and Trade, of Local Government, the Head of the Municipal Guard, the Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry, the President of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation, and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.

Dbeibeh stressed the necessity of providing basic commodities during the month of Ramadhan in appropriate quantities, with setting controls to follow up on prices in a number of products and not allowing an unacceptable increase by merchants in these commodities, with the need to support and encourage them to provide the appropriate quantities of them.

The Minister of Economy also emphasized that all commodities and food products, including flour, are available, and that controls on their prices must be set and monitored by the Municipal Guard.

For his part, the Minister of Local Government explained in his speech that coordination is continuing between the Municipal Guard, the Ministry, and the bakers syndicate to follow up on laboratories in terms of weight and price, and the latter is adjusted according to international flour prices.

The Economy Minister indicated that the oil commodity is also available in appropriate quantities, and the rise in its prices will not continue and will be followed up by the Municipal Guard.
