The head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, discussed today, Tuesday, during a meeting with the head of the of National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, government spending for the current year 2022, and a mechanism for following up procedures that help increase disclosure and transparency, in the presence of the designate ministers of planning, Mohamed Al-Zidani and of transportation, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi and the Director of the Sovereign Sector Oversight Department at the Bureau, Ridha Qarqab.
The meeting discussed development projects and activating the recent steps taken by the Prime Minister, and the role of the Audit Bureau in assisting in their implementation, especially the government procurement platform, in addition to supporting the efforts of the General Authority for Information to make the platform a success.
The two parties stressed the need to focus on supporting the local administration by supporting the municipalities, including them in the development program, and paying attention to the basic services that the citizens suffer from. It was agreed to form a working group that aims to follow up and ensure the transparency and validity of the procedures.
