Dbeibeh: « Aqila Saleh desperately attempts to return the division and the government will continue to perform its duties until the completion of the elections ».
The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, said that what Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh is doing is a desperate attempt to restore division, stressing that the national unity government will continue to perform its duties until the completion of the elections.
He added, in statements to the Qatari Al-Jazeera channel, that the government had accomplished all its entitlements related to the elections, noting that he had communicated with most international parties, all of which were against the attempts of the Speaker of Parliament regarding a new transitional phase, according to him.
The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government stressed that the outcomes of the political agreement are clear in the nature of the relationship with bodies and institutions, adding that more than 2.5 million voters were waiting for a road map that would support the elections project and not jump to a new transitional phase.
The Speaker of the Representatives House had confirmed that the national unity government headed by Dbeibeh expired on December 24, and that the House of Representatives opened the door for candidacy to head the new government. The candidates will be heard next Monday, and a prime minister will be chosen on the following Tuesday.
