Brega Oil Company denies the veracity of the circulating news that gasoline contains impurities or is mixed with water

Brega Oil Marketing Company denied, in a statement today, Tuesday, the validity of the news circulated on social media pages regarding gasoline containing impurities suspected of being mixed with water, stressing that the fuel received from oil tankers or the company’s warehouses is free of impurities and polluting materials.

The Company explained that it follows a strict system and procedures for quality and control of fluid movement in accordance with the Libyan specifications issued by the Libyan National Center of Standardization and Metrology to ensure the safety and quality of fuel and its conformity with international specifications approved by the National Oil Corporation and Brega Petroleum Marketing Company.

It added that it checks the shipments through the certificate issued in the country of origin and by taking a sample before the unloading process by a neutral party, inspection companies, conducting the necessary analyzes and verifying the specifications and measurements of the shipment while retaining samples from each shipment received for reference, as for the shipments coming to Ras Al-Minqar warehouse, Misrata and Zawiya, homogeneous samples are taken after conducting the analyzes and comparing them with the Libyan specifications.

Brega Oil Company confirmed that it is in solidarity with the citizens for the damage they have suffered and asks the relevant authorities to monitor the cleaning of the tanks of the stations in which the two types of fuel, gasoline and diesel, are stored due to the possibility of sediments resulting from the unloading operations inside the stations or the corrosion of the tanks of others, in addition to not giving some the necessary stability period Before repacking the cars.

The company indicated that it is responsible and places all its documents related to its receipts and the results of analyzes of its products before the concerned authorities for examination and audit, adding that it is not responsible for changing fuel specifications if it occurs outside the framework of its warehouses or stations directly affiliated to it.
