Ben Ismail: “The recent clashes have hampered the prime minister’s plan to reduce the loads.. I will work on suspend the out-of-service units within 30 days, and if I can’t, I’ll stop working”

The temporary General Director of the General Electricity Company, Mohammed Ben Ismail, said today, Monday, that “the situation of electricity is painful. Everybody knows that. We will do what we can. I love field work and will solve the problem of towers.”

Ben Ismail added, in a statement to Flusna program, that “I will work on suspending the out-of-service units within 30 days. If I can’t, I will stop working.” He commented on the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company, who was referred to the investigation, by saying: “I do not blame them. They worked continuously day and night, but the situation is out of control.”

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, indicated that he financed and supervised a plan that had been presented to him. As a result of the clashes in Tripoli, this plan was hampered, which would have produced only 300 megawatts.

Mohamed Ben Ismail confirmed that Sirte Oil Company had worked to supply the General Electricity Company with gas, but with rising temperatures, the supply decreased.
