The head of the Libyan government emanating from the parliament, Fathi Bashagha, said that the financial transparency report of the US Foreign Ministry shows the extent of financial corruption in the National Unity Government, which he described as expired.
On his Facebook page on Wednesday, Bashagha added that these practices must end, which his government will work to achieve, as he described it.
Bashagha explained that he will focus on applying the principles of accountability, transparency and compliance in all state institutions, and will work according to a budget approved by the Parliament.
Bashagha stressed the need for the independence of the National Oil Corporation, and the preservation of the country’s natural resources through a clear mechanism for managing them for the direct benefit of the Libyan people, in addition to establishing democracy through achieving financial stability.
