Al-Abed meets Sanalla after signing an agreement between National Oil Corporation and World Health Organization

Today’s morning, the signing ceremony of an agreement between the National Oil Corporation and the World Health Organization was launched to treat children with cancer in Libya.

A meeting was also held between the Oil Minister Ali Al-Abed and the head of National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, in the presence of a number of officials.

The Central Bank of Libya sends two cash shipments of 170 million dinars to the eastern region

The liquidity team of the Central Bank of Libya confirmed on Thursday, to our source, the arrival of a cash shipment of 70 million dinars to Benina Airport in Benghazi, coming from the Central Bank of Libya, Tripoli, dedicated to the branches of the Jumhouria Bank.

The liquidity team also reported that it will continue to transfer additional shipments next week to bank branches, thus the value of the liquidity sent to Benina Airport between yesterday and today reaches 170 million dinars.

It is noteworthy that this shipment comes within the framework of the continuation of the Central Bank of Libya, Tripoli, to provide the branches of banks in the eastern region with their liquidity needs.

Al-Abed discusses with the Saudi ambassador the oil cooperation and benefiting from the Saudi experience

The Minister of Oil and Gas, Ali Al-Abed, discussed with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Tunisia Abdulaziz Ben Ali Al-Saker the cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and minerals and improving the energy sector.

The Ministry of Economy and Trade is working to enhance the role of businesswomen in small and medium enterprises

Today, Thursday, the Minister of Economy and Trade in the National Unity Government, Mohamed Al-Huwaij, inaugurated the first economic forum for women entrepreneurs, free trade activities and craft professions, and the accompanying exhibition under the slogan “Made in Libya with Libyan hands”, organized by the Libyan Organization for Specialized Women, in the presence of the Director of the Office of Support and Empowerment of Women, Sabah Saad, the head of the Libyan Organization for Specialized Women, Laila El-Dabaa, a number of businesswomen and a number of interested participants.

Al-Huwaij praised the level of organization of the forum and the accompanying exhibition, the participation of businesswomen and the distinguished presence of micro and small projects that contribute to economic diversification and raising the level of income of Libyan productive families, stressing that the Ministry of Economy and Trade is working to enhance the role of businesswomen in the small and medium enterprises sector through Business centers and incubators, finding foreign markets for their products through the Export Development Center, and searching for funding sources for pioneering ideas and projects in coordination with the Credit Guarantee Fund and specialized banks.

The General Attorney discusses with the Italian Public Prosecutor ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries Public Prosecutions

The Counsellor General Attorney Seddik Al-Sour discussed yesterday, Tuesday, with the Public Prosecutor of the Italian Court of Cassation, Giovanni Salvi, and the Director of the National Department against Organized Crime and Mafia in Italy, Cafiro Di Rayo, ways to enhance cooperation between the Libyan and Italian Public Prosecutions in the field of criminal justice.

Al-Sour discussed with the Italian Public Prosecutor the requirements of interworking for the purpose of finding a working mechanism conducive to addressing all the problems that prevent the completion of investigations of a common nature, especially those related to crime organizations involved in organizing illegal immigration, human trafficking, fuel smuggling and terrorism.

The meeting also dealt with the mechanisms for implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the Libyan Public Prosecution and the Anti-Mafia and Terrorism Department, including defining a point of contact that contributes to exchanging information and sending documents related to the investigations within procedurally acceptable deadlines, in addition to the file of those convicted of Libyan nationality and the development of procedures in their regard.

The General Attorney’s Office indicated that the meeting was also an opportunity to share experience with the Italian side in the framework of supporting the Information and Communications Control Department, preparing and implementing training programs aimed at increasing the knowledge level of the Libyan Public Prosecution members and raising their expertise and competence in cooperation with the Italian Public Prosecution.

Tarhuna branch of Jumhouria Bank announces the start of disbursing the marriage grant in cash

Sidi Essid branchof Jumhouria Bank, and in coordination with the Governing Council of Tarhuna Municipality, announced the start of disbursing the marriage grant in cash to all citizens who obtained the cheques of the allowance without the need for a bank account for the beneficiary.

The beneficiary must appear in person with a valid personal identification document.

Sanalla calls on France’s Total Energy to implement projects in the Sidra oil area

The Chairman of the Directors Board of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, met today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the company, with the General Director of the French Total Energy Company in Tripoli, Pascal Brent.

During the meeting, Total’s various activities in the participating companies like, Waha Oil Company, Akakus Oil Operation and Mabrouk Oil Operations were discussed, as well as the future projects of these companies and Total Energy’s contribution.

The meeting touched on the joint work programs between the National Oil Corporation and Total, in addition to Total’s contribution to intensive training programs in some specializations in the oil industry.

During the meeting, it was agreed to coordinate between Total and the General Administration of Human Resources Development in the Corporation to move forward in this aspect.

He explained that the people of the areas close to the operations are the natural incubator of the oil wealth, stressing that this point is one of the most important priorities and strategic plans of the Corporation, which will work hard during the current year and the coming years in cooperation with its international partners as Total to implement it.

The Public Prosecution orders the imprisonment of the Minister of Health and his deputy to investigate several charges.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Public Prosecution ordered to detent the Minister of Health of the National Unity Government, “Ali Al-Zanati,” and the Undersecretary, “Samir Koko,” to investigate several charges, including supplying oxygen generating units at ten times their price.

The Public Prosecution Office explained that the Chief Public Prosecutor initiated investigation procedures into the financial violations found by the Accounting Bureau employees regarding the implementation of the development budget allocated to the health sector. They were questioned regarding the non-observance of the administrative contracts regulation in the sector’s contracts and the reluctance to adhere to the standards for the use of contracting tools, in particular their carrying out the work of supplying oxygen generating units with an increase in price that reached 1000,% of the selling price in the market.

He added that the Public Prosecution questioned them also about contracting by direct assignment to carry out some works after the date of their receipt from the competent department and contracting by direct assignment with companies newly established a few months ago, despite their lack of financial solvency and sufficient experience to carry out the contracted works, pointing out that the Public Prosecution Attorney ended up ordering their pretrial detention pending the case when there was sufficient evidence that they had committed the reality attributed to them.

The Ministers of Industry and of Economy agree to prepare the investment map in the industrial and economic fields

The Industry and Minerals Minister, Ahmed Abu Hessa, agreed with the Economy and Trade Minister, Mohamed Al-Huwaij, during their meeting today, Wednesday, at the Ministry of Industry headquarter in Tripoli, to prepare the investment map in the industrial and economic fields and to prepare for the economic conference for the south of Libya.

The Minister met the President of the Chadian Military Council to work on developing bilateral relations between the two countries

The delegation was received upon its arrival by Chadian Prime Minister Bahimi Badaki and Chadian Foreign Minister Mohamed Mohamed Zain Sharif.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination, and working to develop and develop cooperation relations to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
