Aqila Saleh assures the US ambassador that the oil fields will be opened after installing the mechanism for distributing oil revenues equitably to all regions

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, affirmed during his meeting today, Sunday, in Cairo, with the US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, that the oil fields will be reopened after installing the mechanism for distributing oil revenues equitably to all regions.

According to a statement by the Director of the Media Center of the Speaker of Parliament, Abdul Hamid Al-Safi, the meeting dealt with several files, the most important of which are the closure of the oil fields and efforts to reopen them and the issue of the state’s general budget, in addition to the work of the Libyan government from the city of Sirte.

He added that the Speaker of the House of Representatives indicated that the next parliament session will study the draft general budget for the year of 2022 submitted by the Libyan government, noting that the government’s work from Sirte will enable it to work completely freely and will not fall victim to blackmail by “militias” or anyone.
