An official source at the Audit Bureau denies rumors that the head of the Bureau has issued a decision to suspend Sanalla from work.
An official source in the Audit Bureau denied rumors about the issuance of a decision by the Head of the Bureau, Khaled Shakshak to suspend the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla from work.
A number of social media pages circulated news of a decision issued by the head of the Audit Bureau to stop the head of the Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, because of the latter’s withholding of oil revenues.
The fact that Sanalla withheld oil revenues from the Central Bank of Libya in the institution’s sovereign account in the Libyan Foreign Bank raised many questions about the legality of this procedure or not.
The head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, had confirmed in previous statements that the National Oil Corporation does not have the right to acquire foreign exchange until it withholds it, stressing that this measure is an attack on the state’s public treasury funds.
