Ali Al-Hibri: « The unified salary schedule will raise the salary item to 60 billion dinars, which will exacerbate the liquidity crisis »

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Ali al-Hibri, said that the unified salary schedule that will be issued soon will raise the salary item in the 2022 budget to nearly 60 billion dinars, nearly the double of the amount spent on salaries last year 2021, which amounted to 33.1 billion dinars.

Al-Hibri warned that this rise in salaries will exacerbate the liquidity crisis, explaining that the Central Bank will be required to provide cash liquidity of 4 billion per month, saying: « This amount is impossible to provide unless the Central Bank owns a printing press to print money ».
