Al-Theni calling upon all public authorities to stop dealing with the Military Investment Authority

A reliable source asserted to Sada Economic Newspaper that the Libyan Prime Minister Abdallah al-Theni sent a correspondence to ministers, and a number of public entities to stop dealing with the Military Investment Authority and suspend all previous or planned projects for failing to adhere to current legislation.

During his correspondence, al-Theni exposed the illegal seizure of state land and property by the Military Investment Authority.

Al-Theni also revealed that the Military Investment Authority had illegally seized assets of agricultural and investment projects in Libya.

In this regard, Abdallah al-Theni stressed that filing suit against the Military Investment Authority is a must in case it had trespassed on any party’s property.

The Libyan government on Monday published two documents implicating Khalifa Haftar in corruption.

The government earlier revealed that Haftar’s Military Investment Authority had signed an agreement with the Union of Italian Fishing in March 2019 under which Italian fishing boats were allowed to fish in Libya’s territorial waters in return for 10.000 euros ($11,100) a month for 5 years.
