The head of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Meshri, stressed in a statement on Friday that combating fuel smuggling can only be done by adopting a series of measures and steps, including replacing commodity subsidies with cash subsidies, accusing the National Unity Government of not taking any reform steps in this regard.
In his statement, Al-Mashri explicitly accused the head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, of being behind the fuel smuggling operations, saying that the smuggling of oil and fuel is carried out on a large scale, in a semi-official way, through personalities and advisors affiliated with the prime minister, Dbeibeh, according to the statement.
Al-Meshri expressed his rejection of the aerial bombardment of areas in the city of Zawiya, accusing Dbeibeh of exploiting the drone weapon to settle political scores against different parties with him politically under the pretext of combating crime.
