Al-Barghouthi participates in the work of the Fifth Conference of the Arab Parliament and the heads of Arab councils and parliaments

A member of the House of Representatives, a member of the Arab Parliament, Hassan Al-Barghouthi, participated on Saturday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, representing the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, in the work of the Fifth Conference of the Arab Parliament and the heads of Arab councils and parliaments.

Al-Barghouthi stressed that the situation of Arab food security in light of the increasing rates of the food gap requires taking a set of effective policies to build a social economic system that addresses the shortcomings of developing agricultural production to address the food deficit, indicating that food security in Arab countries requires a qualitative shift to pay attention to the agricultural sector and give it priority. in government economic programmes.

The Fifth Conference of the Arab Parliament issued its final statement in which it approved the document prepared by the Arab Parliament under the title “Parliamentary Vision to Enhance Arab Food Security” and included the challenges facing Arab food security, as well as parliamentary recommendations that contribute to addressing this problem, including the creation of an advanced legislative structure for a system Food through the sustainability and localization of technology and application of the concept of smart agriculture and governance of water resources management in addition to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy in resolving crises and conflicts in the Arab region.

It is noteworthy that the document approved by the Fifth Conference of the Arab Parliament and the heads of Arab councils and parliaments will be submitted to the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit to be held in the State of Mauritania.
