The Research and Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Libya stated during the quarterly economic bulletin for the first quarter of the current year 2023 that the total money supply as of March 31 of this year amounted to more than 114 billion dinars.
The Central Bank stated that the currency with the public rose during the first quarter of this year to 33.9 billion dinars, and the total demand deposits increased to more than 77.2 billion dinars, in addition to 2.9 billion dinars in quasi-money, including time deposits and savings deposits.
The total money supply witnessed a remarkable increase during the past two years, as it recorded 100.6 billion dinars by the end of the year 2021, before it increased by more than 10 billion dinars, recording 110.3 billion by the end of the year 2022, to continue its rise at the beginning of this year to reach 114.1 billion by the end of the first quarter of the year 2023.
