In a statement today, Tuesday, the Administrative Control Authority asked the head of the government of national unity, Dbeibeh, to withdraw his decision regarding limiting the dealings of government agencies with the employees of the Audit Bureau only, stressing the need for all entities subject to their supervision in accordance with the law to comply with their members and staff in their oversight functions in order to avoid being subject to legal accountability.

In its statement, the authority affirmed that it is dissociated from acting on what was stated in the law administration’s decision in particular because it is not compulsory, noting that it exercises its jurisdiction in accordance with the provisions of the law of its establishment and that the decisions it issues regarding the exercise of these competencies are characterized by legal legitimacy, and it will not be affected by what was revealed in the law administration’s opinion, which directed the appeal against the decisions of the Authority before the courts.

The head of the national unity government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, had issued a decision regarding limiting officials in the public agencies affiliated with the government with the employees of the Audit Bureau, excluding other oversight bodies, in sympathy with a decision from the Law Administration in particular, based on a referendum submitted by the Audit Bureau.
